Who doesn't love donuts?!

Recently, I got to spend 12 hours in Portland, OR.
Where, I finally got to go to Voodoo Doughnut!!!!!

VooDoo Doughnut, Portland, OR
We waited in line for about 30 minutes or so, and once inside the ordering process goes really fast. You have to know exactly what you want when you walk up to the counter; which was not a problem for me, as I had been dreaming about this day for months.

VooDoo Doughnut, Portland, OR
Sooo Yummy!

(note..this box contains donuts for myself and 4 other people, I didn't eat them all by myself.)

These were by far the best tasting donuts I've ever had.

Why does VooDoo Doughnuts have to be soooo far away?!? I want to eat another one right now! Sooo Yummmy.

If you ever stop by Portland, it's soo worth the wait in line..trust me on this one!

100 blocks of summer...not for this girl.

In celebration of Tula Pink's newest book, my LQS is running a event called '100 Blocks of Summer'.

If you make all 100 blocks from Tula's book by the end of the summer you get all sorts of goddies. There's even going to be an award ceremony. The least amount of blocks you can make and still get a prize is 20.

So that's where I set my sights.... 20 blocks. I know, I know..it's not much of a challenge...but I've been soo busy digitizing up a storm, getting ready to launch my website of machine embroidery designs (it's coming soon I swear!), that I haven't had a lot of time left over for sewing.

Luckily, the blocks go together fast and easily. I took me about one week to get all 20 blocks done, and I made duplicates of some of them.

Annnnnd in no particular order, here they are!!!  The 20 blocks that I made.

Oh Senor Don Gato was a cat.....

I have fond memories of 4th grade music class. I can still picture myself sitting in the classroom and singing my little heart out.

This past weekend we went on a family camping trip, and I attempted to teach my niece and nephew one of my favorite songs from 4th grade. Only...I couldn't remember all the words. DOH!

Today, I finally had a moment to stop and look up the words...and now I'm going to share them with you all.

It's sing along time! Follow the bouncing ball!

(okay just kidding..I have no idea how to make a bouncing ball appear over the lyrics, but it would be wicked cool if there was a bouncing ball...so you'll have have to pretend).

Oh Senor Don Gato was a cat
On a high red roof Don Gato sat
He went there to read a letter,
Meow, meow, meow
Where the reading light was better,
Meow, meow, meow
'Twas a love note for Don Gato

I adore you wrote the lady cat
Who was fluffy, white and nice and fat
There was not a sweeter kitty,
Meow, meow, meow
In the country or the city,
Meow, meow, meow
And she said she'd wed Don Gato

Oh, Don Gato jumped so happily
He fell off the roof and broke his knee
Broke his ribs and all his whiskers,
Meow, meow, meow
And his little solar plexus,
Meow, meow, meow
Ay Caramba cried Don Gato

Then the doctors all came on the run
Just to see if something could be done
And they held a consultation,
Meow, meow, meow
About how to save their patient,
Meow, meow, meow
How to save Senor Don Gato

But in spite of everything they tried
Poor Senor Don Gato up and died
And it wasn't very merry,
Meow, meow, meow
Going to the cemetery,
Meow, meow, meow
For the ending of Don Gato

When the funeral passed the market square
Such a smell of fish was in the air
Though his burial was slated,
Meow, meow, meow
He became reanimated,
Meow, meow, meow
He came back to life, Don Gato
